Diseases and Enhancers
There are many different types of diseases that can affect the nervous system. One of these diseases is known as epilepsy. Epilepsy is where someone has recurring seizures. These seizures are caused by overactivity of the brain cells and affect various regions of the central nervous system. Another disease is the stroke. A stroke occurs when there is a decreased amount of blood flow to an area of the brain. The brain then begins to die, causing a stroke. This affects the nervous system because once one side of the brain is dead then it means the nervous system won't be able to function properly and perform all the actions it needs to. Head traumas also affect the nervous system. Two types of head traumas are blunt and penetrating. A penetrating trauma is where something was injected or stabbed into you whereas a blunt trauma is just getting hit with something. Both can affect the brain causing the nervous system not to function properly. On top of many diseases, there are also many ways that the nervous system can be enhanced. Since the eye is part of the nervous system, if it goes blind then it would be no use to the system. A glass eye or glasses help with this because they help the eye focus more and be able to sense objects around them again. Hearing, another part of the nervous system, can be enhanced by a hearing aid which helps people hear better.
